HISTORY

This metal group was formed in 2002 from musicians which used to play together or have known each other for long time. Some of them used to play in the groups such as GLADIATOR, POCHODEM VCHOD or ZALOMENA HRIDEL (Klaus, Snop), SARKAD (R.Blacha, Fík- ekyt.), HARD WORLD (Klaus, R Blacha), KANYSTR and SACRYST (Badžo). They existed under different conditions; however what they had in common was their own songs mostly with Czech texts.

The idea of group formation came out during the preparation to a traditional open music called Koberjam in spring 2002 when current members of FIREZONE decided to continue in playing and new songs began to arise. After some time even a new singer appeared – Badžo – who had played drums before. The name of group – FIREZONE - also relates to this period. Group has already been based on heavy metal songs with speed and hard rock features since the early beginning.
The metal attack of the group followed in the spring 2003, when the group recorder Demo 2003 and appealed several contests and organizers. As the result, they took part in the competitions in Odry and Plzeň and had several public performances. The group repertory was added by the songs of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Arakain, Vitacit, Metallica, Edguy etc. A guitar player and author of some songs – Fík – left the group because of work and family reasons. It could be said that immediately the group was joined by new young and promising guitar player – Radim Herudek, who should have played in the group only for temporary period, however he appeared to fit between the others so he has stayed till nowadays.

His entry initiated different sound of the whole group. A new demo of 2004 occurred for group promotion. Absolutely new dimension of company brought a new singer – Lucy. Finally, new websites were created due to Radim who also works as administrator. Later on, the group started thinking of first CD record which became true at the end of 2004. The year 2004 was marked with several successful events such as “Beatová liga” in Plzen and the group was the support of the group Doga. The CD mentioned above with simple name FIREZONE was finally recorded at James studio in December and released in February 2005.

The beginning of 2005 was connected with CD record and drilling of new adopted songs for Koberjam 2005 where the group promised to participate as usually. At the same time, the group members felt that copying of other band is not what they wanted to do any more because adopted songs stopped mostly the own outputs. The group also tried to help with organization of some events and open music and played together with very interesting groups and musicians, i.e. Nightwish revival etc. Very nice full point of this season was the performance in Metal Hey programme of Radim Koziel on October 6, 2008. The rest of year was devoted to the own production. It was obvious that the group wanted to play harder, dense and powered music than till that time which was confirmed by new songs. As the result we had to say goodbye to Lucy because there were no more place for woman voice.

At the end of 2005, a stunt man – David Bryknar – called the group and asked for a new song which was finally the supportive background for its promotion programme of his achieved success and records. That’s why a song called Jet Mask (by the way it is David’s nickname) appeared. Other new songs were created and put together for new CD since the autumn 2005 which was finally recorder in April 2006 because of the load of “home” studio James. On May 11, 2006 the new album called “Zrcadlo doby” (Mirror of the period) was introduce in the radio Hey. The group organized two local open music. Because of Klaus´ accident and his head injury, the group had to solve great problem on July 29, 2006. However thank to Radim, who modified songs for one guitar only, the group could meet all agreed events. This accident was not the only tragedy for the group because Badžo, a singer, and Radim, a drummer, decided to leave the group till the end of 2006 because of family and work reasons. Their decision was highly respected by the other members.


 

The end of 2006 and first months of 2007 related to the searching of new members. Because of state mentioned above, the group was not able to organize their schedule and any activities till the end of April. Unfortunately, operation of Klaus´ head was completed successfully and the group could start practising again. The issue of new members was still really serious because FIREZONE´s music seems to be simple and direct. Performances of some new singers and drummers did not look to solve the crisis. After long-lasting selection, the group practiced with young singer Fergie and it was confirmed again that single woman voice couldn’t manage the group music. Even in June 2007 a young and talented drummer Marian Střibrný alias Devil appeared. He brought forceful and precise performing and hope for sceptical members. At the same time, the group was successful in persuading Badžo to come back. He promised to do the best for fitting he group and personal lives together. In this composition, the group managed to organized several events such as i.e. the traditional Firefest. At the end of year the group started to collect new material for other CD.
The year 2008 seems to be promising. Some concerts and broadcast in radio Hey were organized in the winter months. A new CD should be release till the summer and the whole season promises interesting events. So, we will see………
